Simple ways to know the correct height
for kitchen and bar stools.
  • If your counter is the same height as a kitchen table you need 18” stools.
  • If your counter is the same height as your kitchen sink you need 24”-26” stools.
  • If your counter is bar height you need 30” stools.
  • If your counter is super bar height you need 34” stools.

Other tips:

  • You’ll need 10” to 12” from top of counter to top of cushion for leg room.
  • An average stool needs 24” of counter space.
  • Most stool arms will fit under standard bar or kitchen counters.
